Lovely Jamie Chung may be best known for her role of Mulan on Once Upon a Time or her upcoming vocal role as Go Go in the animated Disney film Big Hero 6; however, the actress also loves a good book. She said she is currently reading The Orphan Master’s Son by Adam Johnson and has an interest in North Korean history.

Glee @ Your Local Library!

Shelf Discovery


It’s great that regular patrons know they may expect terrific service in a variety of ways from their local library; however, even the most devoted of  library users get a bit of a thrill when they find something completely unexpected at the library!   (Note: I mean ‘unexpected” in a good way not in a “finding someone’s old  gum stuck to the shelves” way!)  One good example of this may be found in the Marion Library’s  Young Adult collection. While it’s perfectly reasonable that the Marion Library owns various season sets of the hit series “Glee” on DVD along with some of  the CD releases of music from the television show, it’s a bit of a surprise to be browsing the Y.A. shelves and find a colorful little novel called “Glee the Beginning” by  Sophia Lowell.  The book tells the story of how Rachel Berry and the rest of the members of…

Remembering Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958. While we all remember him for his remarkable musical career and his seemingly limitless talents, according to author Tanner Colby’s new biography Remember the Time he was  also ” a smart and voracious reader. He’d take midnight trips to Barnes & Noble and drop $5,000 on books in a single spree. History, art, science, religion, philosophy—he’d sit alone in his house devouring everything he could get his hands on. (If you were a chronic insomniac too famous to leave your own house, you’d read a lot, too.)”   Stop by your local Marion library and enjoy some of Michael’s music or the book Michael by the Editors of Rolling Stone Magazine.

Chilhowie Library to Reopen!
