Singer, actress, author, philanthropist Gloria Loring was kind enough to show her support for our local library and we appreciate her help. Gloria enjoyed a hit single “Friends and Lovers” in 1986 and has continued to record and perform in musical theater and concerts around the world. She earned acclaim for her role of Liz Chandler on “Days of Our Lives” and with her then spouse Alan Thicke, she wrote the themes for the sitcoms “Diff’rent Strokes” and “The Facts of Life.” She has two sons: Brennan and Robin. She has devoted herself to raising awareness and funding for juvenile diabetes research and treatment and her efforts have led to her receiving the “Woman of Achievement” award from the Miss America organization.
